Day 1 – Lisbon

Arrival in Lisbon where we will provide assistance and private transportation to the hotel. Accommodation at selected hotel or similar, depending on the category.

Day 2 – Lisbon / Sintra + Fado Show

Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will have a day trip into the capital of Portugal and its surroundings. Lisbon lies on the right bank of the River Tagus and is a legendary city with over 20 centuries of history. First stop is the historic district of Belém, near the Torre de Belém, a real Lisbon icon. We will also see the Monument of the Discoveries, dedicated to the rich times of the great maritime discoveries. We will also visit of the Church of the Jeronimos Monastery, the most stunning example of Manueline art and the Coach Museum with one of the finest collections of carriages in Europe. Back to the historic city of seven hills for a walk through the narrow streets of Alfama. Passing through the Praça do Comercio, the return is made through the Baixa, Rossio, passing through the Avenida da Liberdade with the Marquis of Pombal. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon we continue to Sintra with the first stop in the historic center to visit the Town Palace, followed by a stroll through the streets with time for shopping in the many craft shops. Continue to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe where - according to Camões - "the land ends and sea begins." Back in Lisbon we will pass by the gardens of Cascais and Estoril Casino. Around 6 p.m., we will pick you up at the hotel lobby to transfer you to watch a Fado Show with dinner included. Accommodation at selected hotel.

Day 3 – Lisbon / Óbidos / Alcobaça / Nazaré / Batalha / Fátima / Lisbon

Breakfast at the hotel then depart for day trip. Crossing a landscape full of windmills and fruit trees, we arrive in Óbidos. This beautiful town is surrounded by medieval walls where we can admire the architecture and taste the famous ginginha (bitter cherry liqueur). After leaving Óbidos we will visit Alcobaça which is home to the first and largest gothic church in Portugal. Onwards, we will stop in Nazaré, a typical fishing village and seaside resort. We continue to Batalha where we will visit the Monastery of Santa Maria de Victoria, a masterpiece of gothic architecture. After this, we arrive in Fátima, known for its famous Marian Shrine. Return to Lisbon and accommodation in Lisbon.

Day 4 – Lisbon - Porto by train

Check out after breakfast and transfer to the train station Santa Apolonia. Take the train to Porto's Campanhã station. Private transport to the hotel for check-in. In the early afternoon you will be picked up at the hotel for a tour where you will see the most beautiful places in Porto like the Sé Cathedral, the viewpoint of the Serra do Pilar, the Battle Square, the pedestrian street Rua d. Santa Catarina and the Tower of the Clerics. The visit ends in Vila Nova de Gaia where we will visit the Numas Port Wine Cellars. Accommodation at a selected hotel or similar, depending on the category.

Day 5 - Porto / Braga / Guimarães / Porto

Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will go on a day trip through the province of Minho. In Braga, we will visit the Cathedral and there you will have some free time in the historical center that ends with a lunch at the Bom Jesus. In the afternoon our trip continues to Guimarães, the "Cradle of the Nation." We will visit the Castle, the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza and stroll through the beautiful historical center, listed by UNESCO as world heritage. Return to Porto through the green Minho region. Accommodation at selected hotel.

Day 6 – Porto / Douro / Porto

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for a day trip to the Douro wine country. We will visit Amarante (Monastery of São Gonçalo, historical center and brigde), Régua (Bagaúste Dam), Lamego (Sanctuary Nossa Senhora dos Remédios) and Pinhão (visit and tasting of Quinta portwine vineyard). Return to Porto. Accommodation in selected hotel.

Day 7 – Porto / Santiago de Compostela / Viana do Castelo / Porto

Breakfast in Hotel. We cross the border to Spain today and arrive in Santiago do Compostela, a city famous world wide for its baroque cathedral. After visiting Santiago, we stop in Viana do Castelo to visit the Basílica de Stª Luzia, having the possibility to enjoy a stunning view of the the city and the outlet of the river Lima. Afterwards we will visit the historical city center of Viana do Castelo. Return to Porto, accommodation in selected hotels.

Day 8 – Porto

Breakfast at the hotel. Transportation to the international airport of Porto (hours depend on departure time). End of the tour.
